Keystone Mission is in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. HOPE is found HERE!

When I decided to leave an abusive relationship, I ended up on the streets. At 61, this was really difficult for me. I spent a year moving from shelters across Northeast PA to anywhere I could lay my head. I remember the chills of being rained on while sleeping on a park bench.

However, I do believe God places people in your path at the right time for specific reasons. Someone found me in Wilkes-Barre and told me about a place called Keystone Mission. I actually read about their opening the next day in the paper. I didn’t have a safe dry place to lie my head until they opened their overnight shelter.

I prayed on my way up here. I got here and they took me in. They helped me get my life back together.

I worked with their case managers and program specialists and submitted over 30 housing applications until I got a call back. Now I have keys to a place I can call my own. My next biggest hope is have my grandchildren over and watch movies and eat fruit and have my kids for dinner.

Staying connected is better!
